To educate each customer on the rules of the road concerning window tinting in Utah, we have carefully analyzed the legal darkness and reflectiveness of window tinting that the Utah Department of Transportation has established. Here are those rules and regulations as follows:
If you have a windshield strip installed on your vehicle, no matter its size, it must be non-reflective and only applied to the top 4 inches of the windshield (or above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line). The Visible Light Transmission (VLT) percentages allowed in the state of Utah are the same across the board for both smaller and larger vehicles. Front driver and passenger side windows must allow for up to 35% of VLT, while rear windows and windshields can be as dark as a customer would like.
The rules of reflectiveness are rather strict in our state. There can be NO mirrored or metallic
